ABOUT
KIERA BRATTON-LEWIS is an LA-based tv and screenwriter originally from southern Vermont. A lover of family comedies and dramas (faves AMERICAN BEAUTY, AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, HOME ALONE II), Kiera's writing reflects her idiosyncratic upbringing with a white working-class Peace Corps, Vietnam Veteran father, a Black middle-class debutante turned corrections officer mother, and their blended families.
Her teleplay THE CRIMSON was a quarterfinalist in 2021 Screencraft True Story & Public Domain and 2021 Top 10% PAGE Award participant.
Her recent film SEE THROUGH (dir. Eyal Resh), which Kiera produced was a 2019 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner participant, 2021 Austin Film Festival, 2021 Superfest, 2021 New York Short Film Festival official selection.
Before studying Screenwriting at AFI Conservatory, Kiera worked in post production in New York City for filmmakers including Todd Haynes (CAROL), Joel and Ethan Coen (HAIL, CAESAR!), James Schamus (INDIGNATION), Dee Rees (THE LAST THING HE WANTED), M. Night Shyamalan (SERVANT, Season 1) among many other.
In another life, Kiera was a Civil Society coordinator to the United Nations Human Rights Committee, a Middle East folklore scholar, and a community organizer, all before she turned 25 years old.
